
Darrell Clarke: Bristol Rovers Football League return 'amazing'
Bristol Rovers manager Darrell Clarke says his side’s return to the Football League after a single season on the Football Conference is an ‘amazing’ feat. Rovers defeated Grimsby Town 5-3 on penalties.
Darrell Clarke’s Bristol Rovers side defeated Grimsby Town 5-3 on penalties, having played out a 1-1 draw.
They became the first side in 10 years to return to the Football League at the first attempt.
“For us to get back in the first year was amazing,” said Clarke.
“I’m really pleased for our supporters, they’ve had a real tough time of it.
“Obviously, a lot of Bristol Rovers fans going to work with Bristol City fans who have had a fantastic season and getting a lot of stick, now we can have our moment,” he said.
