Producer Danny Boyle thinks there will be a republic within the next 30 years.

鈥淚 know it seems difficult to comprehend that now, but it seems a natural logical outcome of the increasing sense of democratisation" He told Afternoon Edition鈥檚 Emma Barnett, adding, "I think some of the older, less democratic processes鈥�will inevitably fall by the wayside, the democratic process will be empowered more and more.鈥�

When asked, 鈥淪o in the next 30 years鈥�? he replied: 鈥淚 think so yes鈥�.

Danny Boyle was speaking to 5live from the opening of 蜜芽传媒, a new centre for international contemporary art, theatre and film in Manchester.
