Joan Baez: 50 Years of Human Rights Activism
The legendary American folk singer Joan Baez has been recognised by Amnesty International for more than 50 years of human rights activism. She played a role in the US civil rights movement, the anti Vietnam War movement and in countries as diverse as Cambodia, China and the Czech Republic. Newshour’s Tim Franks has been speaking to her about her life as a protest singer and the issues she gets involved in today.
