Sheringham: Allardyce is 'hopeful' he'll be at West Ham next season

Newly appointed Stevenage manager Teddy Sheringham shares his thoughts on Sam Allardyce's future at West Ham, and praise's 'Big Sam' for the experience gained working with him.

Newly appointed Stevenage manager Teddy Sheringham has been sharing his thoughts on Sam Allardyce's future at West Ham.

When asked whether he thought 'Big Sam' would still be in the job next season, the ex-Manchester United and Tottenham striker said:
“He is still hopeful that something will happen, it happened like that the last time he was out of contract at West Ham. I don’t think it’s been any mystery or secret that they have been trying to look for other managers.

"Just because Sam has been involved for three or four years, and the next contract isn’t straight at his feet, doesn’t mean to say that it’s not going to happen. So if he’s hopeful then I’m hopeful for him as well.â€

Sheringham, who had been West Ham attacking coach for the last 12 months, also praised Allardyce for the experience he gained working under him.

"I‘ve got to say a big thank you to Sam Allardyce for inviting me in and the access that he has given me over the last year. That experience will be in valuable in taking into my managerial career because he has been so open with me and letting me see what goes on and talks to me about all the problems he has had," he added.
