Hundreds Missing in Chinese Ship Disaster

Search for survivors after Chinese ship capsizes, court award $12bn smoking damages, Odessa governor says region on front line against 'Russia's intrusion into Ukraine'.

Emergency workers in China are searching for survivors of a cruise ship that sank in the Yangtze River with more than 450 people on board. Most of them are still unaccounted for.

A court in Canada has ordered three multi-national tobacco companies to pay $12.3bn (US dollars) in damages to smokers. It is the biggest award in Canadian legal history.

The former Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili says Odessa, the Ukrainian region he now governs, is on the front line against what he calls Russia's intrusion into Ukraine. In a ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ interview, he said that if the province fell to the Russian-backed rebels who hold sway in the east, then Georgia might be wiped off the map.
