Money Needed to Help CAR Children with PTSD

Violence and war can have a long lasting psychological impact on survivors. The impact could be greater for children, who need to deal with what they’ve been confronted with. The Charity Save the Children is drawing attention to the situation for children in the Central African Republic where thousands have fled their homes over the past two years due to sectarian violence. They say says there's been no funding to treat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in Children - and that needs to change. Panos Vostanis is a professor of child psychology at Leicester University here in the UK and has travelled widely researching traumatised children in post conflict areas. He's just returned from Kenya.
