But when pressed over the advice offered to the Scottish government over the future membership of the EU for a newly-independent nation, Alex Salmond claimed This Week presenter Andrew Neil had 鈥渕isremembered鈥� their previous interview.

Now a Westminster MP, Mr Salmond went back over what he did, or did not, say ahead of the Scottish referendum.

And he claimed the former Lib Dem Scottish secretary had been 鈥渟mearing鈥� Nicola Sturgeon, but was later 鈥渇ound out about it鈥�.
