Dentist: Some people use water instead of toothpaste
A new survey from Bupa suggests that nearly half of the people in UK don't know how to brush their teeth properly.
One in three of the people they asked said they don't use toothpaste. Nearly one in ten admitted to sharing a toothbrush with someone else.
Dr Steve Preddy, Dental Clinical Director of Bupa Dental Services, said that people are "just using water" instead of using toothpaste and suggested that "fluoride is the most important thing to help with the prevention of decay".
He told Nicky Campbell that the best way to brush your teeth is with "thought" and "aptitude" and reminded him "not to forget about the insides" of your teeth.
