Charlie Lawson, the actor who played Jim McDonald in Coronation Street, said that Anne Kirkbride was "right up there with one of the best".

The actress, who played Deidre Barlow in Coronation Street, died from breast cancer in January 2015.

Lawson remembers Kirkbride "laughing like a lawnmover" and said "she could always get away with crudity".

A special remembrance memorial will be held for the Coronation Street actress in Manchester, with many of the soap's actors expected to attend.
