Peep Show and The Thick Of It writer Jesse Armstrong talks to Phil Williams about his comedy writing career, and why he's now turned his hand to writing novels. His first novel, Love, Sex and Other Foreign Policy Goals, is about a young man in the 1990s who joins a touring theatre group to tackle the conflict in the Balkans by performing a play there - but falls in love with fellow theatre group member Penny, whose politics are very different.
