Hate Crime, Cricket and a Fat Cat.

Start your day with the latest news and updates, with Jim and Jo at breakfast.

Tens of thousands of people - who are being victimised because of their sexual orientation - are suffering in silence and struggle to tell the police. That's according to a new study conducted by the University of Leicester. The report published today, shows that from the 35-thousand lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people surveyed, a massive 88% had experienced some form of hate - leaving them with emotional and physical scars. But just a tiny 14% of those victims do anything about it. The cricketing season is now well underway - with Leicestershire playing Glamorgan in day two of their County Championship. But what about women's cricket?! Last week the England and Wales Cricket Board announced a women's super league starting next summer - investing 3-million pounds into the women's game. Now that's all good at the top level but what about grassroots cricket in the city and county? Well we sent ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Leicester's very own cricket fanatic Nisha Chopra to see if girls like cricket: Two fat cats from Leicester have been selected to take part in a vet charity's annual fit club!
