Boorman to the Queen: 鈥榊ou鈥檝e turned me around鈥� from an 鈥榓nti-royalist鈥�
John Boorman says he once told Queen Elizabeth II 鈥淚鈥檝e always been against what you are, what you stand for but you鈥檝e turned me around鈥�.
The Queen and Country director described himself as an 鈥渁nti-royalist鈥� prior to the Queen鈥檚 visit to Ireland in 2011.
鈥淲hen the Queen came over to Ireland, where I live, she smiled all the time, she was quite extraordinary,鈥� said Boorman. 鈥淪he actually won me over. I told her that.鈥�
鈥淲hen I met her I said I鈥檝e always been against what you are, what you stand for, but I have to say you鈥檝e turned me around,鈥� he added.
