Graeme Swann backs Ali over Rashid for Ashes
Former England spinner Graeme Swann has backed Worcestershire's Moeen Ali for the Ashes, over Yorkshire’s Adil Rashid.
Swann said although Rashid (pictured, right) had “bowled well” in one-day matches, he was “not 100 percent sure” he could be as successful as Ali (pictured, left) in Test cricket.
Former English first-class cricketer Chris Adams disagreed, claiming Ali was a "wonderful cricketer” but would “always be a number two spinner”.
“If England are to develop and take their game forward, then it’s an absolute must to keep Rashid in the side now and give him a go from the very first test,” Adams said.
