Jet2.com tells mum it will act on drunken passengers
The managing director of Jet2.com says he is "trying to get the bad apples out" after a mother complained about the drunken behaviour of other passengers on her flight.
Phil Ward appeared on 5 live to support industry-wide measures to tackle disruptive passenger behaviour but found himself challenged by a 5 live listener who described her last couple of journeys as “horrific”.
Mother of two Sarah initially told Ward; “when you get on the plane with children, I think there is an expectation that you’re not going to have to explain to them certain words coming out of other people’s mouths”.
“My crew are reporting and taking much more direct action now,” said Ward. “I am personally involved in refusing people’s carriage on the return journeys back to the UK and also having people arrested by the police when they arrive in the likes of Alicante.”
