NCA Officer: It's my job to look at child abuse images
Lucy Leddy is a Victim Identification Officer for the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP). It’s her job to try and identify victims and offenders from indecent images and videos of children.
Journalists rarely get access to this crime fighting hub, but Adrian Chiles was allowed in for 5 live Daily to meet the staff trying to protect children, stop abuse and arrest paedophiles.
Lucy has seen thousands of images but says she has “become used to looking at the images” but that “there is always something worse than what you’ve seen.”
She said she looks for clues in the background of the pictures; “sometimes it’s like a jigsaw and you don’t have all the pieces and you have to keep looking for more information.”
