Camilla Batmanghhelidh, chief executive of Kids Company says "young people" living in bed and breakfasts "need cash to buy food".

An investigation by Newsnight and BuzzFeed has revealed concerns about how the charity is run and that the Government is threatening to withhold a further 拢3m in funding unless Ms Batmanghhelidh is replaced as chief executive.

Speaking to 5 live Breakfast, Ms Batmanghhelidh said "it is true" some young people receive envelopes containing money, but that there are "proper assessment process" before allocating money.

"All the audits have been absolutely clear and exemplary and I stand by this this is absolutely a red-herring of a story... Middle class people give their children pocket money, that doesn't become a problem. But when it's poor kids it becomes criminal".
