Going to War with Burundi's President
One of the leaders of a failed coup in Burundi says he is preparing to go to war against the government and that anyone was welcome to join his organisation. Burundi has been in turmoil since April, when the president, Pierre Nkurunziza, announced he would be running for a third term in office, a move which opponents say violates the constitution. His bid for office has prompted bloody protests, in which local rights groups say at least 70 people have died.
General Leonard Ngendakumana, a former senior intelligence officer in the Burundian administration, told the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½â€™s Maud Julien he would not give up trying to topple the regime.
