McGrath: England fans favourite moment is my 2005 Ashes accident
Former Australian and international cricketer and commentator Glenn McGrath looks back on the accident that took him out of the 2005 Ashes, just before the second test at Edgbaston.
He recalled how he and teammate Bradley Haddin were throwing around rugby ball when he turned around to make a catch, but stood on another ball and hurt himself.
Speaking to Eleanor Oldroyd at the after-party of film screening, which celebrated England’s 2005 Ashes victory, McGrath said the England fans often tell him their favourite sporting moment is the accident that took him out of the 2005 Ashes tournament.
"I've spoken to a lot of English cricket fans and they say their favourite sporting moment is me treading on the ball [...] when I got back from hospital, it's the first time in England they've announced my name and a massive cheer went through the English supporters."
