Japanese Emperor's wartime broadcast
Japan releases new digital version of the historic radio address made by Emperor Hirohito, in which he declared that Japan was surrendering at the end of World War Two. In the new version, the Emperor's voice is far clearer. How important is this new enhanced recording at such a critical time in Japan's history? Jeff Kingston is director of Asian Studies at Temple University's Japan Campus.
