If we stop teaching children to write in cursive, future generations will not be able to read all of our documents, says handwriting expert Christina Strang.

Stopping teaching cursive, also known as joined-up writing, will also have an "impact" on the cerebral core when learning, said Ms Strang, as handwriting links up parts of the brain and helps "hand eye coordination."

Her comments come as Finland have decided to drop joined-up handwriting lessons for children in favour of keyboard skills.
