Mark Prince on moment he forgave son Kiyan's killer
The father of Kiyan Prince, a promising young footballer who was stabbed to death aged 15 in 2006, has explained how he came to forgive his son's killer.
It comes after stabbed teacher Vincent Uzomah said he forgave his fourteen-year-old attacker, who has since been handed an 11-year sentence.
Mark Prince said thoughts of "murder, killing, revenge, hate, anger" towards Kiyan's killer, Hannad Hasan, were "eating away" at him.
"I felt like I was dying," he said, and decided to turn to God. "After I'd had this tearful experience and this prayer, I went into court and had this awesome sense of peace."
