Government approach to bank branches 'inconsistent'
Former head of the Office of Fair Trading John Fingleton has described the Government's approach to retail banking as "inconsistent".
Mr Fingleton exclusively spoke to Wake Up To Money after Government ministers sent a letter to the British Bankers' Association expressing concern with bank closures.
However, Mr Fingleton has said retaining bank branches is actually at odds with the Government's policy to get competition working better in banking.
