Former Wales captain: 'Fans priced out' of World Cup
The former Wales rugby captain Robert Jones says rugby fans are being 'priced out' of Rugby World Cup tickets.
The event hosted by England starts 18 September 2015, and the Chief Executive of World Rugby Brett Gosper has said the tournament has "fans at its heart", and has highlighted "exceptional ticket sales".
Speaking to Phil Williams, former Wales captain Rob Jones said that he didn't agree with prices as high as 拢250 per ticket. He said the tournament should be "an opportunity for the rugby public, the rugby people, the supporters who go week in week out, to go watch world class rugby".
He also criticised the corporate nature of the event: "It's almost like they [fans] have been priced out of it. It's all corporate companies who will be going there watching these games. The normal rugby folk won't be there."
