Train eyewitness: Lives could've been lost without Marines
An eyewitness to the France train shooting has told 5 live that lives could have been lost without the help of the US Marines who reportedly overpowered the gunman.
New York based social worker Christina Coons - who heard the gunfire - also described how she ducked for cover, and saw a man "bleeding very heavily from neck" come into her carriage.
The Thalys service which runs between Amsterdam and Paris was near the French city of Arras when the incident occurred.
President Obama has praised the servicemen for their "courage and quick thinking" in foiling the attack.
And a man has been arrested by French Police.
