Train hero: 'Dad, we just took down a terrorist'
The father of Alek Skarlatos who helped tackle a terrorist on a French train, spoke of his shock when his son told him “Dad, we just took down a terrorist”
Emmanuel Skarlatos was at home in Oregon when his son, who is a reservist in the American National Guard, rang him from a French police station.
The 22-year-old had been on the train from Amsterdam to Paris when the Moroccan born terrorist opened fire on the carriage injuring three passengers.
Alek was with two friends, Spencer Stone and Anthony Sadler, who also helped subdue the man.
