Gatlin's agent: 'We need to recognise he's a human being'

Justin Gatlin's agent Renaldo Nehemiah has said that the athlete "needs to be recognised as a human being" and shouldn't have to "bear the brunt" of criticisms about doping.

Nehemiah said he worries the tone of the media coverage around Gatlin could lead to violence and criticised the heckler who confronted Gatlin's mother.

Nehemiah had previously stated that the sprinter would refuse to talk to British media after being "vilified" after losing out on 100m gold at the World Championships.

Justin Gatlin and Usain Bolt are preparing for their 200 metres semi finals at the World Athletics Championships later today.
