FFS is a combination of 70s glam-rock band Sparks and Franz Ferdinand, who announced their formation in March this year.

Talking to Colin Paterson on 5 Live's Afternoon Edition Russell Mael from Sparks said he doesn't know whether their song This Town Ain't Big Enough For Both Of Us would even work in today's environment:

"With the predictability of what pop music is now, I just don't think those kind of songs, in this day and age would even see the light of day," he said.

Franz Ferdinand's front man Alex Kapranos agreed adding, "[radio] programming tends to be done by algorithms rather than human beings with taste".

FFS have been playing gigs in the UK this week.
