My rescue missions in the Med
For Darwit, a young Eritrean, living in London, the migrant crisis is not abstract nor is it somebody else's problem -- he has been granted asylum in the UK. But he's been so moved by the plight of those fleeing across the Mediterranean, packed in boats, that he's spent the summer working with the rescue mission set up by the charity Medecins Sans Frontieres’. Darwit is not his real name - he still has family in Eritrea and is concerned for their safety so he wants to remain anonymous.
