An epilepsy sufferer says her Labrador "alerts鈥� her to seizures.

Shannon Locke said she noticed her dog Poppy鈥檚 behaviour was 鈥渧ery strange before having a seizure鈥�.

"She'll come up 15 minutes beforehand and alert me, which gives me time to get somewhere safe," said Locke. "She'll extensively lick me and that removes excess saliva so I don't choke. She'll continue to lick until I come around."

"When she's alerting me to seizures, I have no idea. There鈥檚 no feeling, there鈥檚 no way I would have known. Most of the time I would have just hit the decks, I鈥檝e smashed my head, I鈥檝e fallen down stairs. So she's definitely picking up on something,鈥� she added.
