Veteran comedian Jimmy Cricket has said he doesn’t like the "humiliation" of shows like Britain's Got Talent, and compared them to throwing "Christians to the lions".

Jimmy, who's well known for sketch shows like "And there's more", told Stephen Nolan he felt the fact that embarrassing people makes good entertainment doesn't "make it right", and he feels sorry for good acts who are "left on the scrapheap".

He suggested that a show that "gives people a break" and nurtures talent would make better TV.

Jimmy will be touring the UK with the Osmonds, as well as starring in his first feature film next year.
