Sam Stanley: I'm gay
"I finally found the courage to come out after years of hiding it", said Sam Stanley.
The 23-year-old has become the first English professional rugby union player to come out as gay.
Speaking to 5 live Breakfast, he admitted he had contemplated suicide before eventually coming out to his family and team mates.
Sam said he hopes publicly coming out will help other people feel confident enough to let go of the "loneliness, anger and hurt" of being in the closet.
