A-ha: Playing Rio again was one of the reasons we re-united
A-ha members Morten, Magne and Paul say one of the reasons they got back together is to play in Rio De Janeiro again, where they broke the world record for paying concert attendees with a crowd of 198,000 people at the Rock in Rio festival in 1991.
The band, who have sold an estimated 80 million records, are now back together five years after splitting up, with a new album and forthcoming world tour.
A-ha’s lead singer, Morton Harket, said the Rio gig made him "think" about the band's career, as it was a huge "milestone" for them.
Guitarist Paul Waaktaar-Savoy said it was “very special” with a “super-electric atmosphere”.
However keyboardist Magne Furuholmen said his main "souvenir from that night" was tinnitus, which he said gave him a "two part harmony" in his ear.
