As striker Saido Berahino unsuccessfully tried to force a move from West Brom to Tottenham on transfer deadline day, Danny Murphy reveals his story of pushing for a switch.

Berahino suggested he will never play for the Baggies again under chairman Jeremy Peace, after the West Midlands side turned down a fourth bid for him from Spurs.

鈥淚 said something similar to a chairman and a manager once,鈥� said former England international Murphy.

鈥淚 felt I鈥檇 been really harshly dealt with鈥� and "basically said the same thing (as Berahino) in a bit of a huff, but I did get my move.鈥�

鈥淚 was made to sign a form when I left (which meant) I couldn鈥檛 talk about what had gone on.鈥�

鈥淭hese are the types of things that happen. That鈥檚 why I鈥檓 loathed to jump on the band wagon and cane him,鈥� added the 38-year-old.
