Martyn Rooney: 'spread British Athletics resources better'
Team GB bronze medallist Martyn Rooney says British Athletics resources “need to be spread better”, and that certain people don’t get the same level of support as others.
Speaking in the wake of comments from Olympic, World, European and Commonwealth long jump champion Greg Rutherford, who told the ѿý he has limited funding since his London 2012 win, Rooney said "certain groups and athletes" will have "100% support", but there are others - not “the flavour of the month” - that don’t.
However, he said UK Althetics were aware of the issues and will do “whatever they can to help the athletes".
He said: "There has to be a coming together and Athletes have to have a strong voice even if that's lead by UK Sport or separate from [UK Athletics]".
