Bond author: ‘People deserve an answer’ over Iraq war
The current author of the James Bond books, Anthony Horowitz, who has written a play about the Iraq war, said politicians have still "not been brought to account" over the war.
He criticised the amount of time the Chilcot inquiry report has taken, saying the war and its aftermath "drags and drags on", and is a “running sore on the face of our democracy”.
Horowitz said the reason Jeremy Corbyn and Russell Brand can "find a voice" in modern politics is because "we don’t trust modern politicians anymore, because of Iraq".
He said "people deserve some sort of answer" sooner rather than later because many families "lost children, husbands and wives" to the conflict.
