Queen Is Longest Reigning British Monarch
The Queen has passed the record set by her great-great-grandmother Queen Victoria. Buckingham Palace has calculated that Queen Victoria reigned for 23, 226 days, 16 hours and 23 minutes. This takes into account 63 years and 15 leap days.
Newsday spoke to Richard Fitzwilliams, a royal commentator about the ups and downs of her record breaking reign.
