University Challenge contestant: I didn't think the vest was outrageous

A University Challenge contestant has gone viral after appearing on the show wearing a pleather vest.

The man behind #vestgate, Kaamil Shah, said he "didn't clock that the vest was going to be that outrageous."

Speaking to 5 live Breakfast, Kaamil described the outfits typically worn by University Challenge contestants as "boring."
