David Lloyd: 'We play too much cricket' in England
Former England cricket coach, David Lloyd, said "we play too much" cricket in England at championship level, and international players need "more rest".
The Sky cricket commentator said T20 cricket is "fabulous" and "engages young people", but the challenge for cricket's administrators is to combine all forms of the game to make it work.
He said in Australia and South Africa, county teams play a maximum of ten games, and by imitating this in England, there would be "more quality" for fans of the game.
Later in the interview he used the example of “England’s best player, Joe Root” who he said “needs a rest” before the next test series against Pakistan.
