Is there anybody out there?
When scientists sent Pioneer 10 into space in 1972, it carried a pictorial message describing the human race - in case the spacecraft was seen by an extraterrestial being. Over 40 years later, the Breakthrough Message competition seeks to update any message humans send into outer space. Dr Jill Stuart is a space policy expert at the London School of Economics.
