Pet funerals: '拢15k' to turn pet ashes into diamonds
Former pet undertaker Dawn Murray says turning ashes of cremated pets into diamonds, which can cost up to 拢15k, has become "one of the most popular" ways of memorialising a loved pet.
Speaking to 5 live Breakfast, Ms Murray said taxidermy had fallen out of fashion.
She said only one person had asked for the pelt of an pet during her time as an undertaker: "It was a lady who wanted to keep her cat as a pelt infront of the fire."
A study published by market research company Mintel found a rise in the amount of money spent on lavish funerals for pets.
