Pet funerals: '£15k' to turn pet ashes into diamonds
Former pet undertaker Dawn Murray says turning ashes of cremated pets into diamonds, which can cost up to £15k, has become "one of the most popular" ways of memorialising a loved pet.
Speaking to 5 live Breakfast, Ms Murray said taxidermy had fallen out of fashion.
She said only one person had asked for the pelt of an pet during her time as an undertaker: "It was a lady who wanted to keep her cat as a pelt infront of the fire."
A study published by market research company Mintel found a rise in the amount of money spent on lavish funerals for pets.
