Utah floods: Lt Governor saw 'ferocious wall of water'
The state lieutenant governor of Utah says his community had "very little warning" about flash floods, which have so far killed 16 people.
Twelve of 16 people in two vehicles swept away on Monday by a wall of water in Hildale were killed. Three children survived. One person is missing.
Spencer Fox told 5 live's Rhod Sharp: "No one has seen a flood of this magnitude. Everyone thought they were at a very safe distance when this ferocious wall of water came."
He said he had met some of the victims' families: "As you can imagine this has been really devastating for them, they're struggling to cope with it."
