A History of Britain - in Portraits
The British art historian, Simon Schama, believes that the history of a nation can be told through its portraits - both paintings and photographs. He's written a lavishly illustrated book called The Face of Britain which is accompanied by an exhibition at London's National Portrait Gallery and a five part series on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ television.. He told us about some of those portraits, beginning with a controversial one of Winston Churchill.
