Knifed teenager's sister: 'No feelings' for killer
Family of teenager murdered in knife attack say more 'stop and searches' by police could have prevented his death.
The family of a murdered teenager says more 'stop and searches' by police could have prevented his death.
15 year old Alan Cartwright was attacked by a group as he rode along Caledonian Road, in Islington, on 27 February, 2015. Joshua Williams, 18, who had denied murder, was found guilty at the Old Bailey of lashing out at Alan, delivering a single stab wound.
Speaking to 5 Live, Alan Cartwright's sister Cherrie Ives says she has 'no feelings' towards her brother's killer. She says that although the family think that justice has been done, their 'sunshine has gone'.
Cherrie Ives says there should be more stop and searches by the police and her brother could still be alive if recent changes weren't brought in. The Metropolitan Police said "Stop and search is an important police power, but when it is misused it wastes police time, it undermines public confidence and it is unfair, especially to young black men."
