Health For All?
Despite medical advances, equality of health across the globe is still a distant dream
Despite medical advances, equality of health across the globe is still a distant dream. In 1977 the World Health Organisation unveiled the Health for All programme. Yet with just over a decade to the new millennium, millions of children die of treatable diseases which can be prevented with a simple vaccine. Also in the programme, in Western society AIDS, heart disease, cancer and the quality of life in old age are other challenges discussed by the panel.
This is a programme from the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ World Service Archive and was originally broadcast in 1989.
