Beattie: England's Wales performance was 'wimpy'
England's performance in their Rugby World Cup defeat to Wales was 'wimpy' according to former Scotland international John Beattie.
England were beaten 28-25 at Twickenham, despite having led 22-12 and Beattie says Stuart Lancaster's side will need to improve physically against Australia next week.
"For England to win they'll have to be a lot more physical. It was kind of a wimpy display (v Wales)," he said.
Stuart Lancaster's side will need to beat Australia if they're to progress from Pool A and Beattie says anything could happen.
"World rugby is different to a Bond film where you know Bond will survive, with rugby you haven't a clue," he added.
"England could do really well at the tournament but they have to man up and front up."
