Footballer: Sunday League ‘horror tackle’ cost me business
A Sunday League footballer says a "horror tackle" that put him in hospital with his leg broken in two places also cost him his business.
Self-employed window cleaner Stuart Parsons was stamped on during a Sunday League match by opposition player, Nathaniel Kerr.
Kerr, 24, pleaded guilty at Manchester Crown Court to assault. He has been jailed for a year.
Parsons, 30, told 5 live's Peter Allen: "I was just trying to make a living like anybody else but that’s obviously been taken away from me now."
The violent tackle happened two minutes into the first game of the season between Emigration FC and AFC Gold Cup in the Stockport Sunday league.
