Lancaster admits future will be looked at after England World Cup exit
England coach Stuart Lancaster says his future will be looked at after the side鈥檚 pool-stage exit from the Rugby World Cup.
England cannot qualify for the quarter-finals after being beaten 33-13 by Australia, their second defeat in three matches, and Lancaster gave an honest assessment when asked if he would be considering his position.
鈥淲ell yeah. I think it wouldn鈥檛 just be me,鈥 he said.
鈥淭he reality is it鈥檚 not for now. We鈥檝e got a week to go and we play Uruguay. It鈥檚 important we put in a performance up in Manchester and finish on a high.
鈥淚 understand where the accountability and responsibility lies and it鈥檚 with me,鈥 he added.
Lancaster was appointed England coach in 2012, and signed a contract extension until 2020 last year.
