'The players are bored with Mourinho'
Discussing Chelsea’s poor start to the season as part of Mark Chapman’s Monday Night Club, journalist Neil Ashton claimed Jose Mourinho’s players were “bored” of his tactics.
He said: “These players don’t want to play in this tactical straightjacket. The players, I believe, get bored with the way they are playing. They want to play with more flair, more freedom and more panache.”
5 live Sport pundit Steve Claridge, meanwhile, said Mourinho needed to find a way to get his players back onside, adding: “Clearly this side are not playing for him.”
Former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton questioned Mourinho’s decision-making, adding: “You don’t get a key player [Nemanja Matic] back onside by putting him on at half-time and then subbing him.”
