Could new drugs help people to live longer?
Researchers in America say a new study could help people to live longer.
A decade-long study by the Buck Institute for Research on Ageing and the University of Washington has identified 238 genes that, when removed, increase the lifespan of yeast cells. The experts say the findings could now lead to new ways of improving human health.
Matt Kaeberlein, a professor of Pathology at the University of Washington in Seattle, said the research was about understanding the processes driving ageing. He told 5 Live that there was now the potential to find a drug to target genes and extend the lifespan of humans...
