‘English Sport does not allow for personalities’
Former England football internationals Danny Mills and Chris Waddle believe English sport does not allow for personalities.
Discussing the recent poor performances of English teams at football, cricket and rugby union World Cups, Mills said England “play no-risk sport" and argued flair players such as Danny Cipriani and Kevin Pietersen miss out on selection because they "can't be trusted to do the right thing."
Waddle added that those with a "Jack the lad” image are overlooked because senior figures at English governing bodies fear players who “might be front page, not back page."
